Please pardon our mess, still working on our site!

HI, welcome to our site!
We are an IN HOME rescue located in the heart of central Indiana, and because we are in home, we are not on a schedule persay. The birds here are part of our flock day and night, not just 8-5, but all of the time. There is always someone here with the birds, they get out of cage time, flight time, play time, but most importantly QUALITY time, and they always have human interaction!! We feed our birds a Zupreem Pelleted diet, with small seed mixture, fresh foods, fruits, veggies, and pasta. Beak Apetite and more. We accept all species of birds, small to big, and for any reason! Biters, Pluckers, Handicaps, behavioral issues, and just those that are looking for that special home! We travel all over the state of Indiana, and surrounding states; IL. MI. WI. KY. TN. OH. to rescue birds. We prefer not to have a parrot shipped to us. If a parrot needs to be rehomed out of our driving area, we will first try to find a reputable rescue in that area for the parrot, if not acceptable to the owner and in an emergency we may ship that parrot, but we prefer not to.

We work with all breeds, We specialize in parrots with plucking issues and self mutilation issues as well. We work extensively with Macaws, Amazons, Cockatoos, and African Grey parrots & others alike! But, we accept birds of all species:)
We are non-profit 501c3 (status applied) and dedicated to improving the lives of parrots. Our rescue is funded totally out of pocket, except that of donations of the wonderful people that help or fundraise!

-We do not breed or place birds with people who breed.
-We do not trade, sell, or use birds in our care for commerce or profit.
-We promote education on all issues of avian welfare.
Placing your Bird, and knowing what to expect when doing so.

We understand that there may come a time in your life where a change, emergency situation, or other problem, would cause you to have to give up your parrot. Maybe it's a new baby on the way, maybe it's an illness, or just that busy lifestyle, and your parrot is not able to receive the same attention and interaction it was once used to. Whatever the reason, IF you feel there is no alternative and it would be in the best interest for the bird to rehome, then we will do our very best in helping you to make the process as easy and painless as possible!
Your bird will receive the very best care, medical attention, diet, and love here at EPR. He/She will live surrounded by humans and others of his kind, in a more natural environment with so much to do and explore!
When surrendering your bird, it will help us and your bird immensly to know everything we can about them. Also bringing the bird's own things (such as their cage, toys, etc.) will help the bird adjust to his new surroundings!
However, we WILL accept your bird w/out a cage, it just makes the transition for them easier if they come with their home:) Just know your parrot will be in the very best forever loving home!
We keep previous owners updated of their parrots, and how they are doing, we send them pics via email. We always welcome previous owners to stop and visit the sanctuary anytime they choose to see for themselves that their bird is being cared for well, and loved.
No need to make an appointment, our doors are always open to you!
